Retreats

The next retreat to be held at Cortijo Vadillo is 'Becoming Your Divine Archetype: Goddess Retreat', from Thursday 29th April to Monday 3rd May 2010, led by Ishtar.

For over a decade Ishtar has performed and taught nationally and internationally and has had many TV and media appearances. She has also featured  in national magazines including Cosmopolitan, Spirit and Destiny ,Kindred Spirit  Women’s own. She has her own successful  instructional DVD ,which  has sold internationally . Ishtar has been taught by a variety of international  Middle Eastern teachers. Although she is interested in practisng at tradition Middle Eastern forms. of dance She also  practises 'creative belly dance, and a variety of fusions. Ishtar has combined her knowledge of sacred and healing dance with her degree in psychology and professional qualifications in holistic therapies and counselling, to provide team building workshops, based on cooperation and creativity.

Music Events

Etnosur is a free ethnic music festival based in the town of Alcala la Real, which drew over 50,000 visitors last year from all over Europe. The festival takes place in the middle of July every year, and over the weekend there are a wide range of workshops and performances from music, art, theatre and circus groups from all over the world. The Nacimiento del Rio San Juan actas as a chill-out space for festival goers to cool off in the heat of the day and relax to the sound of guitars and drums. Cultural Events

La Fiesta de la Cereza (Cherry Festival) is based in our local town of Castillo de Locubin, and provides an expose of local produce, crafts and customs. It is a significant celebration for the town, which takes the cherry as it's emblem, and the four-day traditional Spanish fiesta is filled with eating, drinking and socialising. The fiesta is an excellent insight into the rural culture and traditions of our local area, and is a major event in our local cultural calendar. It is of course a fantastic place to gorge yourself on the delicious locally grown cherries!

Sporting Events

Maraton BTT Dessafio de Sierra Sur is a local cycling event which links with the cycling race La Copa de Andalucia. For further details have a look at their website www.dessafio.org
